Ueli Berger (1937–2008) is not just an important Swiss artist but a true Renaissance man. He has worked as an architect, sculptor, designer, and video artist, and has lectured at both the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and the School of Design in Bern. His work has appeared in a number of single and group exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout Switzerland and Germany. Ueli Berger—Alles in Allem provides an overview of Ueli Berger’s body of work on paper from 1967 to 2007, documenting his independent works—drawings, photographs, photomontages, prints, and etchings—as well as sketches and project drawings for installations. The first and only available study dedicated to Berger in English, this volume captures the great variety of styles, media, and materials that characterize the artist’s vast creative output and investigates the fluid interrelation between room, line, and space that distinguish his work. With its lavish illustrations and astute essays by Matthias Frehner, Elisabeth Grossman, and Claudine Metzger, this authoritative look at an influential Swiss artist will interest contemporary art aficionados and those studying paper as a medium of expression.

The book was published to coincide with an exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts Bern.
